DUPLEX  PARIS  9th

For this project of extension and complete renovation of a family apartment, with an initial surface area of 80 m², we redesigned and created new volumes, as well as a new visual universe, but also transformed this Parisian apartment and 3 maids' rooms under the roof, located above this property, into a 120m² duplex.

Discover the creation of the Duplex Paris 9ème, located in the heart of Paris near Place Saint-Georges, a modern family cocoon where old-world charm and contemporary design are one.

The layout of the Duplex by Romy Lesniowski

For this duplex apartment architecture project, requiring a facelift and more space, the challenge was considerable: not only did we completely renovate an 80 m² apartment, but we also grouped it with 3 maids' rooms, located above the property to transform it into a 120 m² duplex.

The idea was to provide this family with a new living space, but also to renovate their current interior with an atmosphere that reflects their image. After several interviews allowing us to slip into their daily lives, we offered them a new interior design as well as a tailor-made visual identity, responding to each of their requests. We carried out turnkey interior architecture work, from design to site monitoring, surrounded by our teams of professionals and various service providers.

The ground floor of the duplex was completely removed, allowing us to start from a new base and reorganize all the spaces; the upper floor, designed to be the master suite, was also redesigned: most of the original partitions of the maids' rooms were removed in order to recreate each area.

This Parisian duplex is composed on the first level of an entrance, a large kitchen in an industrial style and open to the living room, two children's bedrooms, as well as a bathroom. The upper floor, connected by a staircase entirely made to measure and closed by a glass roof, is dedicated to the master suite which includes an office space, a large bedroom with integrated dressing rooms and access to the attic by an iron ladder, also made to measure. A large bathroom with a corner bathtub and a walk-in shower, as well as a terrace with a view of the Sacré Cœur complete this level.

The ambiance of this Parisian duplex combines modern and raw for the kitchen, with a concrete effect for the cupboards, as well as white bricks on the splashback, all enhanced by a precious setting: copper suspensions by Tom Dixon which match the Dornbarcht taps provided by David B.

In the kitchen, as in the children's bathrooms and the master suite, white and black tiles with geometric and distinctive patterns were used to give character and create a contrast with the wooden touches of the worktop and the vanity units.

For this duplex project, we wanted above all to preserve the charm of the old, and combine it with a strong contemporary atmosphere.
